We cleared the table of place mats and the evergreen centerpiece. Swiped the surface clean with our sleeves and with the corkscrew she gave me last spring edged clear the factory sealed encasing at the seams and dumped the contents out. Spreading the fragments out with outstretched palms as though patting our way through a darkened room. We laid flat the pieces and flipped them over. We have to start with the edges she said And then we can fill in the middle. She worked on the top the sky a chain of blues anchored at each corner with a bit of tree. I worked on the bottom a base of evergreens separated by snow and the blue shadow of the mountain. Nineteen inches long. Thirteen inches high.

Floramay: It was great to meet you at the Opry this weekend. You and Shelley really rocked the house! Ive enjoyed your CD but its nothing like the experience of seeing/hearing you live. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out you were from Florence. I guarantee you were the only other person in the room that knew where Timmonsville Hwy meets Hwy 403! I missed Texas while I was in SC but now that Im back in Texas I find myself missing SC. Hearing that sweet slow drawl was music too Floramaaay is he taall?
